By using Bragg coherent diffractive imaging, our collaborators and us developted the operando characterization of the topological defects in the cathode nanoparticles of lithium ion battery. Based on this technique, three-dimensional imaging of dislocation dynamics in individual battery cathode nanoparticles is realized while the battery working at high voltage. It opens a pathway for facilitating improvement and rational design of nanostructured materials for energy storage and conversion devices.
